THIS week's delve into the News photo archives takes us back 50 years to 1972 and a look at some fantastic fashion icons of the period.
Indeed, fashion shows were very much in vogue, as were some pretty spectacular hats, as this photo shows the ladies of Largs showcasing some trends of the time..
Those are the stairs from the lower dining room to the upper of the Marine and Curlinghall Hotel where the ladies posed for the News photographer.
Also in full flourish at the time were Largs Cricket Club's members, who were joined by the town's Provost Dan Doris for this picture. They were snapped at the hotel which was demolished to make way for Inverclyde Sports Centre.
The Corries enjoyed a Barrfields ovation after a third sell out concert at the venue in February 1972.
Roy Williamson and Ronnie Browne were not allowed to leave the stage until they had sang not one encore, but two, and a young Nicky Nardini, eight, made his first catch after finding mackerel on the beach of Largs.
