WEST Kilbride's golfing star Louise Duncan will get to play on one of the world's most famous courses after being invited to compete in the 2022 Augusta National Women’s Amateur.

The event, from March 30 to April 2, will see 39 of the top 40 in the game's top amateurs compete at the famous venue, which hosts The Masters each year.

Louise, who is a member of West Kilbride Golf Club, is set to make history as the first Scot to be invited to take part.

The highly competitive field is headed by world No 1 Rose Zhang of the US.

Louise, who was recently engaged to North Ayrshire swimmer Jordan Hughes, says she is thrilled to receive the big invitation.

The 21-year-old told the News: "It’s extremely exciting. The opportunity to play in the event on such a famous course is overwhelming.

“It’s just about every golfers dream to play Augusta and to actually do it will be simply incredible."
