TV presenter Michael Portillo will be evoking the spirit of the Battle of Largs by becoming a Viking in his forthcoming tv show which will air later this month.

The episode of Great Coastal Railway Journeys will see the famous tv presenter dress up as a Norse warrior of yore in a re-enactment of the violent clash which is celebrated every year thanks to the Largs Viking Festival.
As well as the town's Viking heritage, the end of Hunterston's nuclear power legacy, and the stunning grandeur of Wemyss Bay Railway Station will also feature on Michael's forthcoming railway show which is set to air on BBC2 on Valentines Day at 6.30pm.
