Three quarters of households in Scotland will be given a one off payment to help tackle the rising cost of living.
The payments will go to households in council tax bands A to D and to all of those who are eligible for council tax reduction.
Around 1.85 million households across the country will be eligible for the support.
A fund worth £10 million is also being used to target those struggling with their food bills.
For residents in Largs and the surrounding area, North Ayrshire Council will have the choice of giving out the £150 as a cash payment or through credit to council tax accounts.
