Police have targeted speeding on the stretch of the A78 between Largs and Skelmorlie.

Officers say they targeted the issue after a number of concerns were raised by residents about the manner of driving on the road.

Police action resulted in one driver being warned and another reported for speeding offences.

Sgt Semple of Largs Locality Policing Team said: "In recent weeks concerns have been raised regarding speeding on the A78, in particular between Largs and Skelmorlie.

"Officers will continue to carry out high visibility patrols in the area with a view to promoting safe driving within the community.

"I would encourage drivers to take care when on the road and not to take any risks that would put themselves or other road users at risk."
