Police Scotland is reminding the public of the dangers of riding E-scooters illegally after an increase of incidents in Ayrshire.
Police Sergeant Craig Beaver of the Road Policing Unit said: “E-scooters are legal to buy, but they’re illegal to ride on public roads and pavements and owners may be unaware they’re breaking the law.
“We are seeing an increasing in those using E-scooters being involved in collisions and ending up hurt.
“Our aim is to keep everyone safe on roads and pavements, but where there is evidence of criminality riders will have their scooters seized and subsequently destroyed.”
