Largs Thistle legend George Wall's football column...

The Over 35’s league starts back this Friday night for Largs Thistle with an away game in Kilbirnie for the team.

Here’s hoping we can with the league this season after third place finishes in the previous two seasons.

* Tomorrow sees another huge game for Largs Thistle as they attempt to stay in the PDM Buildbase West of Scotland Premier Division.

Another three points for Largs and that is all they can do, keep picking up the points and see where it gets them.
I have been impressed with Craig Forbes in midfield - he keeps driving forward and shows great energy. Hopefully Will Sewell has got that out that penalty miss of his system - he has been such a key player for Thistle this season and his goalscoring rate has been phenomenal.

It’s all in Thistle's own hands with four massive games to go.
Keep playing the way they are doing and all will be good but they need to keep playing with that high intensity.
Near neighbours Kilbirnie are going down after losing to Rutherglen Glencairn at the weekend.
The league will be less interesting without them and their fans.
I hear their manager Thomas Molloy, a ex Largs player, is saying a dozen news players are needed at Kilbirnie, a big rebuilding job ahead for him.
Ladeside's Graham Muir, who has played for Largs in three different spells, played his final ever game on Saturday - what a trooper he has been over the years, and he has scored some crucial goals for Largs over the years.I see the Lowland League have officially announced they are are accepting applications from clubs who wish to to be 'guest' clubs in their league.
Details of the criteria for clubs should they wish to join the league also seems to be in the public domain.
It starts with a entry fee of £40,000 along with other requirements.
While I understand the need for clubs to look after themselves I feel that if SPFL clubs and the criteria will basically only be met by top Premier League clubs, want a league for their B teams to play in go and create a reserve league. Let the pyramid be the pyramid.

* I was surprised that the fixtures for the end of the season were changed so late on.
After Hurlford, Largs have a week and a half break before they host Glenafton on May 11, followed by Clydebank at Barrfields on Saturday May 14
The final fixture of the season sees Largs Thistle head to Kirkintilloch Rob Roy on May 21.
