THE Mudhook Whisky Club recently held its annual auction of old and rare brands to raise funds for local deserving causes.
A sum of £450 will be split equally between Fairlie Primary School and Fairlie Community Garden.
Acting head teacher at Fairlie Primary, Pauline McGuire, says that the money will be used to support projects in collaboration with the team at the garden, building on a relationship that has been very successful over the past few years and she was definitely seeing a strong interest in the sustainable living projects from the school pupils.
Malcolm McQueen, chairperson of Fairlie Community Garden, says he is looking forward to expanding the range of projects available to the school pupils in the coming months.
The picture shows Andrew McPake, of the Mudhook Whisky Club, presenting a cheque to Malcolm, who accepted on behalf of both causes.
The Mudhook Whisky Club meets monthly in the Village Inn and provides the opportunity for those interested in tasting and understanding more about whisky from Scotland and wider afield to enjoy a convivial gathering amongst like-minded people.
