Largs Thistle legend George Wall's regular football column looks at some ex-Thistle players going on to big success...

Congratulations to Darvel on winning the WoSFL.
An ambitious club who have invested in good players and have depth in their squad which really was the key for me.
A few months ago I never thought they would do it but they managed it. I honestly expected Auchinleck would  win it. Ex Largs skipper Creag Little played a big part in Darvel’s title win -congratulations to Creag.
I also see Creag’s partner in defence at Largs Nicky Jamieson picked up the the Player of The Year award at Stenhousemuir , congratulations to Nicky.
Things are becoming a little clearer at the bottom of the league however we all need to cross our fingers and hope Darvel win their play off to get into the Lowland League. If they do that only 6 teams will be relegated, if not it’s 7.
For me it’s crazy that we still do not know at this stage how many clubs are going down. Regardless though Largs know what they have to do, the Largs players know what they need to do, so go do it.

Be prepared as best you can be, focus on the game and play better than the player you are playing against.

There is no reason why they cannot get the results needed.

*  Largs Thistle 35’s lost 3-2 at home last Friday against Shortlees. Two penalties and a own goal for the opposition. Despite heavy pressure they just could not get that equaliser. The only luck they had on the night was bad luck. This week they are away to Dean Thistle.
