A lucky EuroMillions winner has scooped a £184 million jackpot - moving ahead of former Largs couple Colin and Chris Weir in the biggest wins of all time.

The lucky ticket-holder matched all seven numbers on Tuesday May 10 to win £184,262,899.10, instantly making them the UK’s biggest ever National Lottery winner.

The previous record Euromillions jackpot in the UK was £170 million which was claimed by an anonymous player in October 2019.

Former Largs couple Colin and Chris Weir are now third on the list after their £161 million win back in 2011.

The couple set up The Weir Charitable Trust following their win and made a donation to Largs Thistle for their 3G pitch at Barrfields.

The couple seperated in 2019, with Colin sadly dying after a short illness aged 71.

Camelot’s senior winners’ adviser Andy Carter said: “This is absolutely incredible news!

"We saw history made with the biggest ever National Lottery prize won by a single UK ticket-holder, and we’re ecstatic that we’ve now received a claim.

“Our focus now is on supporting the ticket-holder through the process and helping them start to enjoy their truly life-changing and record-breaking win.”
