A number of different events are taking place in Largs and Millport and local area to celebrate the Queen's Jubilee over the coming days.

Here is an itinery of what to look out for: 

THURSDAY

 

2-4pm A JUBILEE tea party is taking place in West Kilbride Village Hall on June 2.
The event takes place in the main hall from 2 to 4pm and tickets are £3 per person.

9pm  Skelmorlie Secret Bunker site beacon is being at 9.45 to the sounds of the Diu Regnare- long to reign on the pipes by a local Largs piper.

Public access from 9pm. All welcome and free event. For more details see here

9.30pm A local piper will be commemorating the Queen's Jubilee at a scenic setting overlooking the Clyde. 
As part of the celebrations for the occasion, pipers across the Commonwealth have been asked to play a tune composed by Stuart Liddell of Inveraray 
A spokesperson for Portencross Castle said: "We are delighted that one of our local pipers will do so from the roof of the castle at 9.30pm."

 

FRIDAY

11am Fairlie Baby and Toddlers Group is inviting youngsters to a prince and princess party on June 3 The event is taking place to celebrate the Queen's Platinum Jubilee. It takes place between 11am and noon at the Castlepark Drive swing park.

11am-3pm St. Columba's Parish Church is hosting 'Jubilee' Heat and Hospitality on June 3 from 11am-3pm.

In addition to celebrating the Queen's Platinum Jubilee, the event provides a warm space with food and companionship for anyone who would like to drop in. 
There is no charge and a warm, friendly welcome is guaranteed. 
A variety of play types will also be on offer for children.

1-3pm A Queens Jubilee event is taking place at the Largs Community Garden in Gogoside Road on June 3.

A number of local groups and primary schools have been invited to the occasion.
All ages will come together for the special event which will see the planting of a new tree and a special plaque be unveiled at the community garden at the foot of Gogoside Road.
Robbie Stevenson, of Largs Community Council, has been involved in the project and local schools also took part in a poster competition.
The local body have made an approach to Homemount retirement apartments, opposite the community garden, and they are excited to be involved.
A Royal British Legion plaque will be unveiled with reference to Queen’s “Green Canopy” which is symbolised by the planting of a small ornamental tree to be acquired for planting and a white rose garden to the side of the main community garden.

 

5-6pm Jubilee Happy Hour, pints and standard spirits at 70p - Wemyss Bay Station Bar

5-10pm Millport Platinum Jubilee celebrations -Between 5-7pm, everyone is encouraged to have an informal celebration on the prom - bring a table, chairs, food and non alcoholic drink.

The Isle of Cumbrae Tourist Association are hosting a family ceilidh at the Garrison Marquee between 7-8pm.
A family disco will then take place between 8-10pm in the same venue.

SATURDAY

1-5.30pm  M&Co store in Largs is celebrating The Queen's Platinum Jubilee this Saturday.

Join in for refreshments and nibbles to celebrate.

3pm The Cathedral of the Isles in Millport is hosting a festival choral evensong to celebrate the Queen's Platinum Jubilee celebrations.

The event takes place at 3pm, and will be in the presence of The Bishop of Argyll and Isles.
It will be followed by afternoon tea in the Cloister Cafe and Gardens.

SUNDAY

 

11am Cathedral of the Isles, Millport

Pentecostal Sunday Festival of Dedication to the Holy Spirit Sung Eucharist

2-5pm LARGS Yacht Haven is hosting a Queen’s Platinum Jubilee event in its courtyard. The Bosun’s Table is putting on an afternoon tea, with live music from husband and wife Franco and Rachel Castilli, who are acclaimed cruise line singers.

The big celebration will see the courtyard decorated in bunting and flags to mark the special occasion
