The organisers behind Scotland’s Boat Show 2022 due to take place at Kip Marina later this year have had to pull the plug.

They say rapidly increasing infrastructure costs, some of which have more than doubled, together with a critical shortage of boats available for sale, both new and pre-owned, contributed to the decision.

"Given these unfortunate circumstances we have had to take the decision to cancel Scotland’s Boat Show 2022 due to take place this October here at Kip Marina.

"Presenting Scotland’s Boat Show each year takes an enormous effort, both from the team here at Kip Marina, and from our exhibitors who invest expertise, time, and money, to ensure a successful show.

"Consequently, we believe it essential to make this announcement now, rather than risk a postponement later with a potentially damaging financial impact to our exhibitors and we believe this to be the correct, albeit extremely disappointing, course of action."

“Despite the huge effort already made by our team in preparing Scotland’s Boat Show again this year, we believe this to be the sensible course of action given the present circumstances, and one that our partners and exhibitors understand,” said Holt Leisure Managing Director Gavin McDonagh.

“In the meantime we would like to thank everyone for being so supportive of the show and all those who put so much in to creating the event.”.

"We would like to thank all our sponsors, partners, exhibitors, and of course visitors, for their past and continued support, currently we are looking at a smaller alternative event at Kip Marina if possible and will update you if feasible."
