In this week's delve into the photo archives, we head back to summers of the swinging sixties when Aubery Pond was still a relatively new attraction.
In 1964, some of the old time pageantry returned to Brisbane Queen ceremonies with the revival of the parade of decorated vehicles, a fancy dress contest for children and two bands.
Queen Norma Galbraith and maids of honour Irene Scott, Morgan Nisbet and Marjory Acheson, as well as ladies in waiting Janet Dobie, Patricia Walker, Irene Gillespie, Jean Nicol, Nora Kirkwood and Linn Ewing.
In 1965, Largs veterans of the Gallipoli campaign from the Great War gathered at the war memorial to pay tribute to those who had died during the landings in 1915.
The men, members of the Bute Mountain Battery, were Adam Allan, John Anderson, David Brown, James Cochrane, Archibald McIntyre, Hugh McIntyre, James Mackay, Hill Marshall, William Marshall, John Ramage, John Stewart, George Cruickshank, William Thomson, and William Tyre.
Also at the memorial were James Dodds, who was with the Royal Scots Fusiliers at Gallipoli, and Councillor George Barr, of the 52nd Division.
Also in 1965, Guy Massey was pictured making a splash at Aubery Pond in one of the popular paddle boats. The charge to use them was 6d, which is around 50p today.
Meanwhile, big crowds were heading to Barrfields Theatre to watch Largs Amateur Operatic Society's 'Half a Sixpence' production.
And Largs High School prizegiving in 1965 gave pupils the opportunity to display their winning trophies and certificates as a reward for a hard year of study.
