Future Sky Sports presenter and Talksport radio host Jim White visited Largs in his Scotsport days for a special presentation in the Charleston Hotel in 1983.

Largs Boxing Club had regular bouts at Barrfields Theatre, and Millport Boys Brigade lined up for a photo to commemorate their tenth anniversary, taken by well known island snapper Walter Kerr.
