THE organisers of this year's Millport Country Festival have slashed the event's ticket prices.

The popular festival, which attracts the cream of country music from both sides of the Atlantic, is keeping its 'early bird' prices for the duration of the run up to the August 19 and 20 spectacular.
Organisers say they want to make sure as many people as possible can enjoy the entertainment amid the cost of living crisis - with under 14s also going free.
Chairman Gavin Chittick explained: "We are only too well aware of the rising costs being faced by everyone at this time and we want as many people as possible to enjoy the awesome line-up that will be appearing this year, so we have decided to scrap the planned introduction of tier two pricing and keep our ticket prices standard.
"We have a brilliant line-up and activities for all the family. People can enjoy bouncy castles, amusements, beach, crazy golf, bike hire and much more both onsite and near the festival grounds."
"Specialist vendors will offer a wide array of tempting goods while tasty, affordable food and drinks will be available throughout. A total of 37 superb artists will appear over the weekend, led by Drake White and ten more artists from the USA, plus some of the best Scottish, UK and Irish performers. "
