We all know that Largs is packed with things to do during the summer, but which activities are top rated by our visitors?

We headed onto TripAdvisor to find out what Largs sights are a hit with those coming to the area...

1. LARGS PROMENADE

Simple but a big hit with visitors, Largs promenade is known the country over for its great walking from Aubery Park all the way down to the Pencil (which will feature soon).

The wide expanse is perfect for walking, jogging, running cycling and anything else you can think of, with plenty of opportunity to stop for an ice cream or fish supper along the way.

2. THE PENCIL

The Pencil is perhaps the town's best-known landmark and was built to commemorate the Battle of Largs in 1263.

The imposing structure makes a great background for photos, and the walk along to the monument is simply stunning.

3. SKELMORLIE AISLE

The aisle is considered one of the town's hidden treasures, and is tucked away on Lade Street.

The building has a painted ceiling, and is the only surviving element of the former Largs Parish Church, having been built almost 400 years ago.

4. ST COLUMBA'S PARISH CHURCH

One of Largs' most imposing structures, the church stands on the seafront beside the famous Nardini's cafe.

It is renowned for its red sandstone appearance and the sheer size of its bell tower, which rises above the rest of the seafront.

5. FERRY TO MILLPORT

No trip to Largs is complete without hopping on the Loch Shira or Loch Riddon and taking a trip over to Cumbrae.

With a journey time of just eight minutes, it's known as Scotland's most accessible island and visitors could spend a whole day in the main town of Millportitself.
