A CYCLIST was killed on the Haylie Brae above Largs after a crash with a van.
Officers have been appealing for witnesses following the fatal road crash at around 6.30am on Wednesday.
Around 6.35am, police received a report of the accident which involved a cyclist and a white Mercedes van on the A760 between Kilbirnie and Largs.
Emergency services attended and the 31-year-old male biker was pronounced dead at the scene. The 37-year-old male driver of the van was uninjured.
The incident happened on the A760 near to Muirhead Reservoir and officers are appealing for anyone with information to come forward.
The road was closed for several hours while crash scene investigators conducted enquiries.
