Football columnist and Largs Thistle legend George Wall's regular column

I hope that was the bounce back Largs needed winning at Vale of Leven.
Manager Arnie said all the right things in last week's paper and although it took them to extra time to get the result I hope they took on board his comments.

No doubt there would have been a few more behind closed doors.
This week it’s Craigmark in the Scottish and another game where Largs will be expected to win but again it’s not a gimme .
Rangers Woman team progressed into the second round of the Champions League this week.
The make up of the first round was a mini tournament staged in Greece. It was the first time Rangers have reached the champions league.
My mate Craig McPherson is one of the coaches under manager Malky Thomson another mate of mine. Congratulations to both of them. Talking to Craig after they won their league to get there they knew it was going to be a hard ask to get through this stage but they did it and well done to them
I never thought I would see they day when there would be full time woman’s teams in Scotland but we have a good competitive league and hopefully with the media that always surrounds Rangers it will grow.
I have never been a great fan of VAR but after watching the highlights of the weekends Premier League our referees sure need help. Two tackles in the Ross County v Kilmarnock game were horrendous challenges yet both only received yellow cards, straight reds for me.
There were also other incidents that just showed referees in a bad light. Would having full time refs similar to England help ?
Chelsea were well beaten by Leeds on Sunday it was interesting that Chelsea manager Thomas Tuchel stated “ It started yesterday. We had no plane arrive so we came on the bus. The players could fly but for the coaching staff it was a long ride on the bus. “ Imagine having to travel by bus .
I hear that Arnie has now booked a helicopter to get to the Craigmark game.
