Thistle striker Scott Adam is to receive keyhole surgery to get his knee cartilage removed which will keep him on the sidelines for a number of months.

Adam, who has been skipper for the club over recent seasons, has been asked by manager Stuart Davidson to help out behind the scenes before his operation.

Adam added that while he is enjoying his opportunity to help out from the sidelines, if anything, it is making him itching to get back and play in front of the Thistle faithful.
The 33 year old said: "At the end of last season I got the buzz back.
"I went for a knee scan with the idea that I needed it repaired but the medics said that keyhole surgery was required and the knee cartilage actually needs removed.
"The good thing is that while I can't play football I can still keep fit in the meantime through cycling."
Adam's operation date is on October 12 so he reckons all things being well he can be back in a Thistle jersey by the end of the year.
Adam's return late last season helped galvanise Largs as they took part in another great escape, rounding off with six stellar victories.
He said: "It was great to be playing again and I had to change my game to suit Will Sewell as he was on a hot goalscoring streak, and we wanted to keep that going."
Adam has now played six seasons at Largs and was just getting into his stride in season 2020/21 when the season had to be brought to an abrupt finish due to Covid.
He said: "I scored a hat-trick against Blantyre with my head, left foot and right foot. It was a great day and all the players signed the matchball for me which I have on display at home - that was a nice wee memento but I am hungry to get back and score more for Thistle.
"I am still young and feel that I still have a couple of years left in the game."
