LARGS Thistle 2008s are off to a flyer with two wins from their first two games — sending a clear message to the rest of the league that they mean business.
Formed over the summer, they now represent the gold and black in the West of Scotland League 2008s top tier, and have made an immediate impact.
The first home tie and season opener against Galston Youth finished 3-2 in a hard fought win against strong opponents which saw Largs lose a two-goal advantage.
However, they responded with a brace from Finlay Watt before winning the game with a wonder strike from Cameron Greenham.
This was followed by an away win to Irvine Meadow on Saturday.

Despite losing an early goal and being under pressure for much of the first half — including striker Alex Renton injured with a suspected broken collar bone — Largs showed their strength and determination with an equaliser from Clark Wallace before half-time, and a further two goals in the second half from Joseph MacLean and Flynn Thomson, before a Cammy Greenham penalty sealed it for the away team. Some excellent defending meant the final score remained 4-1 to ensure Largs’ 100 per cent record continued.
The team are still looking for a couple of players born in 2008 to join them.
Training is every Tuesday and Thursday evening at Barrfields Park.
