Two men have been arrested after a day of drama at Largs Yacht Haven.
There was a report of a device being found on a boat this afternoon which led to the Bomb Squad being called.
Inspector Barry Walker of Largs Police said : “At around 3.30pm on Sunday, 11 September, we were called to Largs Yacht Haven after the report of an item found on a boat.
"EOD (Explosive Ordnance Disposal) were contacted and the area was evacuated as a precaution.
"The item was not viable and there were no reports of anyone injured." Two men aged 40 and 23 years have been arrested in connection with a Breach of the Peace, police confirmed to the News this evening.
The area was cordoned off until approximately 7.30pm.
Largs and Ardrossan Coastguard teams were also in attendance.
Largs Yacht Haven issued a statement this evening thanking the emergency services.
A spokesperson said: "A big thank you to Police Scotland, Yacht Haven staff and partner agencies for their help in dealing with an incident this evening.
"The Yacht Haven is now operating as normal."
