LARGS-based MSP Jamie Greene has hailed a new eco-friendly glamping business on Cumbrae set up by two 'inspirational' cousins.

Daniel and Adam Jack recently opened ‘Jack’s Alt-Stays’, a development of five holiday lodges just north of The Cathedral of the Isles in College Street, and are already attracting tourists from across the UK.

Mr Greene, who previously paid tribute to the Largs duo at a debate in Holyrood, this week visited the site to see the results of their efforts first-hand.

He said: “I’d like to congratulate the lads on their success. It’s genuinely inspirational to see two young guys work so hard to make their vision come true.

“Their business is creating jobs, bringing money to the local area and having a positive impact on the environment.

“There is a vital need for all year tourism on islands like Cumbrae and there is a huge market and appetite for staycation accommodation.

“I wish them all the best for the future and will try out their lodges myself next time I’m staying over in Cumbrae."

Daniel said: “It was great to welcome Jamie to the island to check out our business, which has been years in the making."
