Heavy water swamped the A78 Main Road in Fairlie earlier this afternoon amid torrential rain.
A burn beside a bus stop was overflowing on to the road leading to heavy water cascading down the street.
During the highest point this afternoon, some cars were forced to turn back with the depth being estimated at seven inches.
The water eventually filtered down one of the paths leading to the beach but the heavy rain throughout the afternoon meant that it was still soaking wet for pedestrians, and vehicles had to carefully approach the scene which was right at the bend in the road.
