Largs won the battle of the seasiders at Barrfields on Saturday with Connor McGoldrick popping up with a dramatic 92nd minute winner.
Both sides cancelled each other out in a very even first half but Largs turned the screw in the second half, with chances falling to Stuart Faulds and Scott Lewis - with Troon keeper Burgess making a superb stop to deny Lewis on 86 minutes.
The Thistle charge continued, and Largs won a corner kick and a smart one-two between Faulds and Simon McBryde saw the former despatch a high ball to the near post which was expertly headed home by McGowan to spark the Thistle celebrations.
