WE head back to 1988 this week when Rick Astley hit the top of the charts with 'Never Gonna Give You Up' while Robin Williams was starring in 'Good Morning Vietnam' in cinemas.

Largs Boys' Brigade were sporting new football strips thanks to a local sponsorship deal with TV dealer Brian McMillan. Some of the footballers snapped include Bernie Andrews, Colin Gault, and Iain McGill.

Up and coming local pop stats Quiz posed for the News photographer. Band members included Daniel Gilfeather, Iain Mitchell, Steven Jeffrey and Sean Guthrie, while the winners of Millport Curling Club's most prestigious trophy - the Silver Kettle - were photographed after their win at Ayr Ice Rink.
