AN online Millport musical advent calender which proved to be a smash hit during the pandemic is to return this Christmas.

Daily videos of performances from talented islanders were put online last December - and received thousands of views from members of the public.

It was the brainchild of islander Paul Hart who wanted to spread some joy and togetherness at a time when people weren't able to meet up.

And although normal life has resumed, Paul is hoping to bring back the daily musical feast that brought joy to islanders.

He said: "I’m planning to do another Millport Musical Advent Calendar from December 1 to 25.

"We had dozens of fantastic songs from folk last time around so if any readers have got an idea for a Christmas song, please get them to me.

"I’m happy to do some editing to videos to help out. It was such a success last time around, it would be a shame not to try and build on that."

Paul, who works for the charity Sense Scotland, managed to attract a number of local performers each day, ranging from the Sonoro community choir to the Rainbows and Brownies

The videos proved a hit with Millport locals, as well as ex-pats from across the world who contacted Paul to praise everyone's efforts.
