A LARGS restaurant has reopened following a six-week makeover as it celebrates 11 years in the town.

Scotts at Largs Yacht Haven shut to customers on September 27 and opened its doors again on Saturday with a new look and new menu following a six-figure revamp.

Space for 40 more customers has been added, alongside an innovative outside dining space - with a new 1,000-litre aquarium to be installed in the coming weeks.

Kenny Blair, owner of parent company Buzzworks, hopes customers will be surprised by the changes.

He said: “We’ve been open for 11 very successful years in Largs, but we felt it was now time for a fresh look and to reinvest for the long-term.

“The changes include new flooring, seating, a roof light to give us more daylight, a completely revamped kitchen and a new outside terrace with retractable roof and sides.

“We’ve been wanting to make more use of our stunning views for a long time, and on a sunny day the terrace will be an amazing location to sit and eat.

“I think people will be pleasantly surprised, and although it will still be recognisable, we hope there is a fresh feel to the place to take us through the next 11 years.”

Kenny says the Largs venue has been a key part of the Buzzworks success story.

He explained: “Scotts in Largs was the sixth restaurant we opened and has been a very important part of our business.

“I believe there’s a real sense of escapism when you go to Scotts in Largs, you feel like you’ve got away for a few hours.

“I honestly think it compliments one of Scotland’s best marinas and I hope Largs residents know what they’ve got right on their doorstep.”

Kenny says he believe people will still come out and eat despite money being tight and told the News bookings are healthy for Christmas.

He said: “People are still coming out despite the cost of living crisis and the festive period is going to be busy.

“I think that despite their financial strains, people still want to go out and treat themselves, which is fantastic to see.

“We’ll continue to provide a space for that at good value for money too, which is more important now than ever.

“There is nothing better in my eyes than going out with family or friends to eat in a fresh, modern and welcoming place.”

A range of positions are currently available across the front of house and kitchen teams at Scotts in Largs.
