Largs Thistle 2008s 3 Caledonian BC 1
The Largs Thistle 2008 boys returned to winning ways this Saturday, as they welcomed a strong Caledonian BC team to Barrfields for round 1 of the Wallace Gemmell Shield.
Largs started strongly, taking the majority of possession throughout the first half with 2 goals from corners being the difference at the break. The first a perfectly placed header from Jayden McBlain into the top corner, the second a strike from Clark Wallace, assisted by McBlain who again connected from the corner.

The second half was a more competitive affair, and saw a goal from each side, firstly from the away team (despite the home crowds claim for an off-side), followed shortly after by a 3rd home goal from striker Alex Renton.
In the end it was a fairly comfortable win for Largs who march onto round 2.
This weekend it’s back to league action as Largs travel to Galston.
