Over half a million pounds will be spent on updating the oldest paddle steamer in the world in preparation for the 2023 season.

Winter maintenance is underway on the Waverley after a busy season this year.
Over the last few weeks since Waverley completed her 2022 sailing season, the main deck around the engine and boiler rooms have been stripped, sanded and revarnished.
The newly varnished deck will now be covered to protect it during the heavy winter overhaul works which will start next week.
A Waverley spokesperson said: "We are anticipating over £500,000 will be spent directly on Waverley this winter on maintenance works.
"The deck is looking fantastic now it has four coats of varnished applied.

Largs and Millport Weekly News:
"Stripping the upper deck seats got underway while the varnish on the main deck was drying.
"More volunteers are welcome to come forward to help with the task of stripping, sanding and varnishing the bench seats.
"There will be a need for us to raise funds to meet the cost of dry dock.
