Ongoing train disruption on the Largs line will continue till the end of the day.
Buses replace trains between Kilwinning and Ardrossan Harbour/Largs.
An overhead powerline fault at Saltcoats has caused disruption throughout the day.
ScotRail said that Glasgow Central - Largs and Ardrossan Harbour services will only run between Glasgow Central and Kilwinning while the problem persists.
Buses run by McGill's and Stagecoach are accepting train tickets between Largs, Kilwinning and Saltcoats.
A Twitter update from Network Rail said: "Our engineers are investigating a fault with the overhead power supply in the Saltcoats area.
"There are multiple isolators that are damaged or not working correctly due to sea salt. We'll need to repair/clean these key components. Teams are working hard to fix this ongoing issue. Thank you for your patience.
"We'll work through the night to repair this fault and apologise for the inconvenience caused to passengers.
No trains can run between Kilwinning, Ardrossan and Largs until this is resolved .
