Fairlie Library has been shut for a few weeks for refurbishment, and will be re-opening on Tuesday January 10 after the holidays.
A North Ayrshire Council spokesperson said: “As part of our programme of library refurbishments, Fairlie library has been re-carpeted, repainted with new shelving installed to provide a bright modern and flexible space for the Fairlie community at a cost of around £14,000."
The library is one of the oldest in Ayrshire and opened in the Village Hall building in 1906.
Adults can borrow a maximum of 12 books, including talking books and children and young adults can borrow a maximum of six books.
Both can be borrowed for four weeks and can be renewed twice online and thereafter at any library.
