Reports have come in suggesting a tree has fallen onto the A78 near Wemyss Bay.
The obstruction was reported just before 9:30pm on the major road heading towards Greenock.
A post on Inverclyde Road Watch reads: "On the A78 just passed the entrance to Weymss Bay heading towards Greenock there's a tree fallen over onto the road about windscreen height and nearly the full width of the lane.
"Pitch black, very hard to see. IRW reported to police at 21:29pm."
