HEROES brought their superpowers to Kelburn last Saturday to raise over £1,000 for Alara Kavak's Little Legs campaign.

The brave tot, three, has been given the chance of specialist private surgery in America to walk unaided for the first time - but her family need to raise £80,000 to pay for it.

Kelburn Country Centre brought a smile to everyone's face by hosting the event - including Alara, who attended with her family.

The day included face painting, party games and an afternoon tea.

Jennifer McShane, of Lavelle Entertainment was Elsa from Frozen, while there were also appearances from Spiderman and other magical figures.

Local mum Stacey Arneil, who is a close friend of Alara's family, came up with the idea.

She said: "Thank you to everyone who came along and those who gave their time to appear or perform. It was also so kind of Kelburn to donate the use of the venue for free.

"Together we raised £1,142, which was fantastic."
