Thistle face Auchinleck Talbot under the floodlights in a testing encounter at Beechwood Park on Wednesday evening.

It is a 7.30pm kick off as Stuart Davidson's side, sitting in ninth spot in the West of Scotland Premier League, take on the fifth placed team.

Last season, Largs suffered a narrow 2-1 defeat at Beechwood Park, and recorded a 1-1 draw at Barrfields Park in the reverse fixture.

Midfielder Laurie McMaster, who briefly returned to the side against Cambuslang, is struggling with injury.

And forward Scott Adam who was hoping to make his long awaited return in January has a groin strain.

Skipper Stuart Faulds sat out the Beith game due to suspension, and the club are seeking clarification as to whether he can play against Talbot after Saturday's game was abandoned which he sat out.

The good news is that influential winger Sean McLeod came off the bench against Beith and looked the part and hopefully will be back in the squad for this week's big fixtures.

Davidson said: "Weeks don't come much tougher than Beith, Auchinleck and Cumnock one after the other.

"Talbot are a very good side but we are wanting to push up that table and are concentrating on the positives from the Beith game - our performance could have been better and we were speaking about that in training on Monday evening.
