Largs Thistle 5 Arthurlie 0

"It was a good day!" was the general summing up of Thistle manager Stuart Davidson after a thoroughly dominant display to demolish Arthurlie.

A victory for the visitors would have seen them leapfrog Largs in the extremely competitive West of Scotland Premier League but Thistle started this match with a spring in their stride.

Largs raced into a two goal lead in the first 12 minutes with a terrific double by Scott Lewis including a back heel and a header.

It was a tigerish display from Thistle who refused to give Arthurlie a moment's peace and Largs were unlucky as Lewis was denied his hat-trick due to an offside decision.

And then the ex-Rutherglen striker smashed an effort off the crossbar.

But Stuart Davidson's side were hungry for more and added another two before the break with goals from Stuart Faulds and an exquisite chip by David Ramsay.

Largs didn't let their standard drop in the 2nd half and added a fifth with the impressive Jamie Martin blasting home a rebound. See below.

He nearly added another moments later as the Arthurlie keeper had to make a diving save to deny Largs no.6.

Thistle rung the changes with Scott Adam, Alan Frizzell and John Tennant entering the fray as Largs comfortably saw the game out.
