PEOPLE living and working on the Isle of Cumbrae are invited to speak up about cost of living fears.

A drop-in event is being held to allow islanders to share their concerns, hosted by North Ayrshire Council and its community partners.

It will take place at Garrison House in Millport on Monday from 3 to 4.30pm.

It is open to anyone living or working on the island and Councillor Alan Hill, Cabinet member for Communities and Islands, is hoping for a good turnout.

He said: “We want to hear residents’ views about the challenges they face.

“It is important that we learn how we can support local organisations to address the specific challenges being faced on the island.

"The cost of increasing utility bills, access to food and other essentials and support that is available for third and voluntary sector organisations are among topics that can be discussed. The conversation will focus on what is currently happening across Cumbrae now to offer support, what the gaps in services are and what individuals and local groups can do to assist others."

Following the drop-in session, there will be an opportunity from 4.30pm to 6pm for community groups to discuss how they can help tackle the primary issues raised.
