Now that was a result against Arthurlie.
A 5-0 win against anyone in the same division as you is a great result, especially in such a competitive league.
It was great to see a smile on Arnie’s face when he was interviewed after the game.
Scoring goals has been the problem this season so hopefully we have turned the corner there.
It was mentioned to me in the week that a lot of us were looking down the table rather than up. I agree with that. Pollok sitting in 4th place on same games played are only six points ahead. S
So let’s get after them. Next game up is Clydebank a very difficult game but no reason why we cannot take all three points and look up that table.
At the weekend I took in the Drumchapel v Benburb game in the 1st Division. First time I had visited the ground at the Donald Dewar Centre that is home to Drumchapel. It’s a pitch with a fence around it, no terracing, no facilities, nothing .
I don’t see why players would want to play there rather than at stadiums such as Barrfields , Bellsdale, Meadow Park, Beechwood, Valefield etc.
I just don’t see the attraction of playing in that type of ground with little support.
It looks like Drumchapel will be one of the teams promoted to the premier division but I just don’t see how that ground will handle the crowds against the bigger clubs.
In England Manchester Unitd have certainly got things together sitting in third place and four points off the top.
Pre World Cup it was lining up to be a bad season but sitting third and in the League Cup final, no mean feat.
Champions League last 16 starts again this week, I am looking forward to that with PSG v Bayern Munich the big one for me.
In England there is also the Arsenal v Man City game which hopefully lives up to the hype.
Partick Thistle Manager Ian McCall ( who played a game for Largs) and his staff were sacked after the Rangers game on Sunday, I wonder if they had held out to win the game if they would still be in a job? It’s a funny old game .
More VAR controversy with VAR at the weekend especially in the English Premier League. Highlights from Match of the Day at the weekend showed a number of errors but where there is still subjectivity and the potential for human error mistakes are going to happen.
Big problem for me was the wrong offside decision, that part of VAR was meant to be factual .
Will that error cause Arsenal the league title?
