Hunterston operator EDF returned a profit of £1.12 billion in the UK in 2022 – boosted by higher energy prices.
The company improved on its £21 million loss in 2021, but its UK consumer energy supplier lost more than £200 million this year.
The French company operates five nuclear power stations in the UK as well as a large number of wind farms.
EDF benefited from higher electricity prices in 2022 which increased revenues without costs rising at similar levels.
The company said it invested more than £2.6bn in its UK nuclear, renewables and customer businesses in 2022.
