"It is brilliant to be back!" - these are the words of striking sensation Will Sewell who has returned to Largs in a major coup for the Barrfields club.

Sewell, 25, signed for Stenhousemuir at the start of the season, after being top scorer in the West of Scotland Premier League last season with Largs after scoring 41 goals.

And an hour before Saturday's big match against Petershill, Thistle made the surprise announcement that they had secured the signing of the 'prodigal son' for the next two years.

A delighted Will told the News he was thrilled to be back and said: "We kept the move very quiet and nobody knew it was happening.

"I was spotted walking to the game by a few fans and they were asking me where I was going - and I told them - I was away to the Thistle game to play!

"I am absolutely buzzing to be back to play in the town that I live in and to get back on the pitch with Addy (Scott Adam) after all he has been through with his knee op was great.

"I had been down watching the Arthurlie game a few weeks ago and we just blew them away in the first half - and the same thing happened against Petershill on Saturday.

"There are a lot of new players in the side since I was last here and it is clear I am going to have to fight for my place in the side - when I came off the bench I had a few half chances - I was perhaps over eager to score!

"With Stuart Faulds and Lewis Davison in midfield, and Blair Devine pushing up, there are always opportunities to score.

"It is still a very young side, and after Addy, I am probably one of the more senior players now at 25!

"We are now looking forward to the Arthurlie game - they are fighting for their lives and will be out for revenge - but we want to get back to back victories."

Largs Thistle face Arthurlie on Saturday at Dunterlie Park, Barrhead, at 2pm.
