The iconic Red Arrows are set to return to Ayrshire this year as part of The International Ayr Show - Festival of Flight.

The popular event, returning after three years, will feature displays from numerous planes including the RAF acrobatic team.

The jets will reach speeds of over 400mph on the Ayrshire seafront, with flying display director Les Garside-Beattie OBE coordinating those in the air.

He said: “I’m delighted to announce that the Royal Air Force Aerobatic Team, the Red Arrows, will be participating at this year’s event.

"Their performance will be guaranteed to enthral us all and will be the highlight of the air show.”

The Red Arrows are set to perform on Saturday September 9, with plenty of other action across the weekend.
