BRISBANE Evangelical Church in Largs have a new pastor.
Rev Ian Dickie previously working in Hopeman in Morayshire for four years and then in Granton Baptist Church in Edinburgh for 23 years.
Before that he was a superintendent in the Royal National Mission to Deep Sea Fishermen in Peterhead, Lerwick and Scrabster
Ian takes over from Pastor Gordon Weir, who has moved to a church in North Wales.
Ian is married to Alison whose career has spanned the Scottish Parliament, teaching and a local council, with her remit for five years as vice convener for education in the City of Edinburgh Council. They have two grown up sons, one in Canada and one in Brussels.
They are very familiar with Largs and the surrounding area with family living and working here for many years.
Ian says he sees the main priority of Brisbane Evangelical Church as serving God by serving the local community.
He added: "I very much looks forward to getting to know the town and engaging with the community, including the many groups which is use the church hall facilities during the week."
