Police in West Kilbride are investigating two instances of fraud in the village, with residents duped out of hundreds of pounds.
The first case occurred on February 15 with a female sending a £100 deposit for a puppy to a seller online.
However, the woman received no more communication from the seller and enquiries are ongoing to identify the suspect.
Five days later on February 20, a female in the village was duped by a WhatsApp scammer pretending to be her daughter.
The scammer persuaded the lady to send a large sum of money from her bank account, and police are hunting for the perpetrator.
