DREW Cochrane has been awarded honorary membership of Largs Players.
The 70-year-old retired former News editor received the award from Club President Hugh Douglas at the Players AGM.
Hugh said: "Drew, a former President himself many times has well and truly earned stalwart status having first set foot on stage with the club in 1975 as Silly Billy in panto.
"He’s since been involved in many SCDA one acts, including Scottish finals, and numerous plays and musicals.
"Drew’s greatest achievement is undoubtedly our summer comedy theatre which ran for 24 years at the Brisbane Centre.
"This was no mean feat and Drew pioneered the popular summer season growing it to the success it became.
"Whether he’s been on stage, or dressed in dickie bow greeting audiences front of house, or contributing massively to the committee over the years, he’s been a huge part of our club and this honour is thoroughly well deserved."
