Thistle boss Stuart Davidson this week is calling on his side to carry on their good form as they face another team on top of their game in Friday night's big match under the lights at Troon, 7.30pm kick-off at Portland Park.

It is sixth versus seventh in the Premier League as Largs have recorded three wins on the spin, while Troon took four off title challengers Darvel.

There wasn't much to choose between the teams in the first half the last time with Largs turning in a dominant second half and notching a late winner courtesy of Connor McGoldrick. See clip below.

Boss Davidson said:  "It is disappointing that the Rob Roy game was off on Saturday as we had been looking to carry on our momentum.
"But with Troon coming up on Friday, we need to get as many points as we can to keep ourselves away from the relegation trapdoor.
"Even with missing one round of fixtures on Saturday, the league has taken on a different context and we have to keep up our performance levels high.
"We have seven league games left and you just have to look at Troon beating Darvel 4-1, Irvine Meadow beating Pollok, and Arthurlie beating Cumnock, at the weekend, to show what a tough league this is, and anyone can beat anyone on their day - it is a very entertaining and a tight league."
"We have a lot of big games to play still including Darvel, Talbot, Hurlford and Pollok at home so we need to get as many points as possible to avoid any pitfalls.
"This Friday night's encounter against Troon will be another tough game - and I have seen them play a few times this season and they are very fast and good attacking outfit so we need to be ready from the off."
