AN institution which has been running locally for 50 years held a special celebration this week.
Clark Memorial Church Hall was the place to be last Wednesday as with a packed hall celebrated a half century of Lent Lunches.
The News was in attendance for the historic day as funds were raised for Christian Aid.
North Ayrshire Provost Anthea Dickson attended the anniversary bash.
She said: "I was delighted to go along to Largs Christian Aid Lent lunch in Clark Memorial Church.
"This is the 50th anniversary of these events, which have raised in the region of £60,000.
"It was great to meet everyone and celebrate their achievements."
Clyde Coast Strathspey and Reel Society performed on the stage while local ministers including Reverend David Watson of Clark Memorial Church and Rev Mark Goodman of St Columba's Episcopal Church, were in attendance. Deputy lord lieutenant Jane Evans was one of the many volunteers who helped behind the scenes.
