Largs Operatic's production of Calendar Girls The Musical has been hailed as the best ever in the history of Barrfields Theatre.

It is fitting given it is the 75th anniversary of the Amateur Operatic Society.

Audiences were packed from Wednesday to Saturday evening, with the matinee on Saturday also a sell-out.

Show insiders told the News that the audience reaction was incredible, with some hailing the production as 'the best ever'.

The much-loved tale centred around a group of ordinary women in a Yorkshire village who strip for charity.

 

The heart-warming comedy follows a group of ordinary women to who decided to create an artistic nude calendar to raise money for charity.

A Largs Operatic spokesperson said: "Thank you to the hardworking cast and crew of ‘Calendar Girls the Musical’ and thank you to our amazing audiences for their continued support!"

It was a triumph for director Ruairidh Forde and musical director Chris Kelly, cast, musicians, and the strong team of volunteers behind the scenes.
