It is back to school in this week’s delve into the archives.

We firstly head back to November 1988 and office information skills class with Mrs Craney as class pupils showed off their touch type skills in typewriting class.

And it was wheely good fun on Largs Promenade as the young farmers were having fun and escapades on the seafront with their annual wheelbarrow race.

A visit to 1988 would not be complete without a visit to Woolies - and the national chain store were hosting a birthday card art and design competition to be designed for The Queen Mother.

The winners of Millport Curling Club's most prestigious trophy - the Silver Kettle - were photographed after their win at Ayr Ice Rink - Mr J Young, Miss Kim McIntyre, Mr A Greig, and Mr F Mapes (Skip).

And it was party time at Kelburn Primary as all the schoolchildren enjoyed a smashing fun time with plenty of fizz.
