We take a splash into the archives this week and look back at summertime fun in Millport down the decades.
There was a great turnout for the Cumbrae Queen in 1990 with Lisa Shek being crowned in front of a big crowd of wellwishers.
This rare shot of the popular and much missed Millport padding pool from the 1970s.
It was based in the Garrison grounds where the car park is next to the entrance of the doctor's surgery.
The pool was taken away but is often recollected by many locals and holidaymakers - and as you can see from the photo - the mini outdoor pool was certainly very popular in the sunny summer days on the island.
And summer time meant it was parade time on the island with Rene and friends from TV comedy series 'Allo 'Allo in this float, starring some well known islanders who were playing it for laughs.
Jacqui McElvanney won the Miss Millport competition in an event held at the Garrison.
And the annual Finlayson Cup football tournament was always well attended and an entertaining match with plenty of endeavour and skill.
