Volunteers from Largs RNLI raced to reports of a small power boat in distress off the Isle of Bute on Monday.

The station’s Atlantic 85 lifeboat was launched at 8,15pm on April 3 after receiving a report that a vessel with one person on board had suffered engine failure in the vicinity of Kilchattan Bay at the south end of the island.

Whilst proceeding to the location, the crew were informed that the boat had made it back to shore under its own power.

The lifeboat was released from service and returned to Largs.
