Queues of up to 30 minutes are facing drivers heading to Cumbrae from Largs.
Ferry operator CalMac has confirmed the route is running around ten minutes behind timetable due to the volume of traffic.
There is currently no wait time for foot passengers, and no queues for Cumbrae passengers travelling back to the mainland.
